The Origin of Zarpalia
Throughout my life, my happiness has always had proper names and four paws. I have been lucky enough to share my journey with incredible animals that have taught me more about loyalty and love than anything else. Whenever I think of them, I do so with a smile, but I realized that the photos I had around the house didn't do them justice.
They end up being images you keep on a shelf or on your phone, but over time they lose the power they had when they were present. I didn't just want "one more photo." I was looking for something that had the importance of a work of art, something that when you looked at it would make you feel that their essence still presides over the house.
That's how I started designing these taxonomic portraits. I was inspired by 19th-century scientific prints because they have that mix of elegance, detail, and respect for nature that fascinates me. I wanted to elevate the figure of our pets, take them out of the common plastic frame and put them on a noble support, like aluminum, treating them with the dignity of a museum piece.
Zarpalia was born from that personal need: to create a legacy that lives up to what they give us. Because in the end, what we do here are not just paintings, it's our way of thanking them for choosing us.
In memory of Peppa, Wicca, Eevee, and Mochi. Thank you for every second by my side; your paw prints are eternal.
